Oulton Broad

MBH was entrusted by Motor Fuel Group Limited (MFG) to spearhead the design and execution of a new, single-story forecourt sales building, complete with extensive external enhancements. The project was located at the Oulton Broad Service Station, situated at Normanston Drive, Lowestoft, NR32 2PY.

This particular site presented a unique set of challenges, as it was an operational petrol filling station (PFS) nestled within an urban environment in the northwest of Lowestoft. Notably, to the south of the site were active railway lines, beyond which lay residential communities. The proximity of the railway lines added an extra layer of complexity to the construction phase of the project, necessitating exceptional diligence and safety measures.

Our dedicated project manager and principal designer played pivotal roles in ensuring the successful completion of the project. They collaborated effectively with Network Rail to address the unique challenges posed by the railway lines, working tirelessly to mitigate any potential risks associated with the project. This cooperative effort was integral to the project's overall success, as it allowed us to navigate the complexities of working in such close proximity to the railway lines while delivering a secure and functional forecourt sales building.
